Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service say five people were taken to hospital On December 24, 2020, as a result of a fire in a Magnus Avenue apartment building.
Crews arrived on the scene around 10:30 pm and encountered smoke and flames coming from the two-storey building. Firefighters searched the building and found one person who they brought to safety. The rest of the people who were in the structure were able to get out before crews arrived.
An offensive attack was launched with the fire being declared under control an hour later.
One of the patients assessed on the scene was transported in critical condition while the other four were stable.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
