Winnipeg police have charged five people in connection to weapons found in a vehicle during a traffic stop.
Police say that just after midnight on Monday July 19, 2021, officers pulled over a vehicle in the 400 block of Talbot Avenue. As officers approached the vehicle a machete was seen in plain view.

The five occupants in the vehicle were taken into custody and the vehicle was searched. Inside a backpack in the vehicle officers found an improvised firing device and ammunition.
Four adult females and an adult male were charged for their alleged involvement with a number of firearms and weapon-related offences.
All of the suspects were detained in custody except for one female who was released on an Undertaking.
