Manitoba First Nations Police Service seized a homemade handgun on Saturday, June 29, 2019 after getting a call about a man with a gun in Sandy Bay First Nation.
Sandy Bay is about 178 kilometres west of Winnipeg.
Officers found the suspect in an area of dense bush just off Center Road in the community. They ordered the suspect to come out but when he did he took off running.
Police chased the man and as he ducked behind a home he was taken down and arrested by officers.
A homemade handgun was removed from the waistband of the suspects pants and seized by police.
Edmond Raymond Spence, 25 has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public, Resisting Arrest, Fail to Comply with Probation and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth).
