RCMP bust First Nations cop for alleged impaired driving

A Manitoba First Nations Police Service officer was arrested early this morning for alleged impaired driving after he was seen leaving a business on Highway 59 near Brokenhead First Nation.

RCMP say that around 4:00 am, October 10, 2019, officers located the suspect vehicle on Highway 4 near Road 320 and pulled it over.

The 32-year-old driver was the only person in the vehicle at the time RCMP made the traffic stop. He has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Conveyance.

RCMP has notified the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba and are continuing to investigate the incident.
