Just after 4:30 pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 fire crews responded to a working fire in the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue.
When firefighters arrived they entered the one and a half story home and began an offensive attack on the fire but due to unsafe conditions inside the residence, they were forced to retreat outside and fight the blaze from there.
No one was in the home at the time of the fire and no one was injured say officials.
Crews were on scene until early Wednesday.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
A second blaze was responded to about an hour later. Just before 6:00 pm crews received reports of a fire in a townhouse on Robson Street.
The single occupant was able to get out before firefighters arrived but was taken to hospital out of caution after being assessed by paramedics on scene.
Crews were able to get the fire extinguished quickly.
The cause is under investigation.
