Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two Selkirk Avenue fires on Monday morning, March 11, 2024.
At 9:25 a.m. emergency crews were called to a one-and-a-half storey house in the 700 block. When they arrived on scene they found smoke and flames coming from the building. An offensive attack was launched inside the home and the fire was declared under control at 9:51 a.m.
No injuries were reported and no one was found inside the building following a search.
Shortly afterwards firefighters responded to a fire just three blocks away in the 1000 block.
At 10:16 a.m. a fire was reported in a two-storey duplex. Smoke was seen coming from one of the suites.
Crews found a small fire and quickly extinguished it.
No injuries were reported.
Fire officials say that both fires are under investigation.
