Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two fires on Thursday evening a couple of hours apart.
Just before 7: 00 pm firefighters were called to a thirteen-storey apartment complex on Chesterfield Avenue after the blaze was reported to them by Winnipeg police.
The fire was quickly put out and damage was contained to the contents of the suite where the fire began.
One person was assessed by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital in unstable condition, No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A little over two hours later, at 9:10 pm, firefighters were called to blaze that was affecting three properties on Capulet Crescent.
Heavy smoke and flames were coming from a garden shed and the fire extended to a fence and a second shed attached to a double car garage. The flames also threatened a home on a third property.
An offensive attack was launched while crews also protected exposures and the fire was declared under control at 9:31 pm.
Both sheds were destroyed, the garage suffered significant damage to the exterior. The fence also suffered extensive damage. The home on the third property suffered moderate damage to the exterior due to exposure.
The cause of the fire is undeyinvestigation. No injuries were reported.
