Around 4:47 pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, emergency crews were called to Marlene Street Park at Beliveau Road and Marlene Street.
When firefighters arrived they found about 6,000 square meters of grassland along the banks of the Seine River were on fire.
Hand lines and a Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Bison truck were used to knock down the flames. The fire was declared under control at 5:02 pm
No injuries were reported. Fire officials believe that the fire was due to human activity.
