Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to an outdoor fire at the Brady Road Resource Management Facility in south Winnipeg around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024.

A large plume of black smoke could be seen several kilometres away.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they cut through the gate to gain access to the facility.
Water tankers were used to shuttle water to the pumpers inside the landfill as crews used hand lines to fight the fire.
As of 10:00 p.m. the fire is still ongoing.
