Winnipeg firefighters responded to fire in a two-storey house on Laxdal Road early Saturday evening, September 3, 2022.
When crews arrived on the scene they found light smoke coming from the building and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control within 45 minutes.
Neighbours tell News 4 that the homeowner was not home and the fire was discovered when a person went over to feed a cat. As the person opened the door they found the area filled with smoke. They removed the cat and called 911.
No injuries were reported
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
