Firefighters respond to four structure fires overnight

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to four structure fires from Monday evening into Tuesday morning, May 12, 2020.

Flora Avenue

Just before 7:15 pm crews responded to a house in the 400 block of Flora Avenue. As they arrived they encountered smoke coming from the building.

An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control within in 30 minutes.

Lipton Street

At 8:26 pm firefighters were called to a two-storey residence in the 100 block of Lipton Street

The fire was quickly brought under control

Alfred Avenue

A third fire at 8:28 pm brought emergency crews to a two-storey, multi-family home in the 400 block of Alfred Avenue. The fire was declared under control by 8:52 pm.

Everyone inside the home was able to get out before crews arrived on the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Marjorie Street

Two people were taken to hospital in stable condition after firefighters arrived at a Marjorie Street single-family home around 3:00 am Tuesday, May 12, 2020.

On arrival, crews encountered smoke coming from the structure and launched an offensive attack.

Everyone who was inside the home had self-evacuated before WFPS arrived.

The fire was brought under control just before 3:30 am.

All four fires are under investigation.
