Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire at a retirement residence on Ridgecrest Avenue on Saturday afternoon, July 24, 2021.
When crews arrived on the scene heavy smoke could be seen coming from a suite on the third floor of the building. A second alarm was called in due to the five of the building in order to increase the number of firefighters and apparatus on scene.
Crews launched an offensive attack and were able to contain the damage to the suite where it began. The fire was declared under control within 20 minutes of arriving on scene.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation
