Firefighters respond to blaze in single-storey duplex on Sinclair Street

Just before 10:30 pm on Friday, November 4, 2022, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to a fire in a single-storey duplex in the 3000 block of Sinclair Street.

 

As firefighters arrived on the scene they found smoke and flames coming from the structure. A defensive attack was launched using handlines until it was safe to transition to an offensive attack inside the building. The fire was declared under control at 10:48 pm.

According to officials, people inside the homes got out before emergency crews arrived. One person was assessed by paramedics at the scene but did not need to go to hospital.

Firefighters rescued a dog and returned it to its owners.

The building suffered significant damage inside from flames, smoke and water.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
