Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire in a vacant two-storey house in the 600 block of Victor Street on Tuesday afternoon, March 22, 2022.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they found smoke and flames coming from the structure and launched a defensive attack to knock down some of the flames and protecting exposures before transitioning into an offensive attack and entering the building.
No one was found in the structure during a search. A firefighter sustained a minor injury and was assessed at the scene by paramedics. They did not require hospitalization. No other injuries were reported.
The building suffered significant damage to the structure.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
