Firefighters respond to a cluster of outdoor and vehicle fires

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a series of outdoor and vehicle fires late Sunday night into early Monday morning that were all in close proximity to each other.

Three separate fires in the Rivergrove area north of Chief Peguis Trail began popping up around 10:50pm Sunday, May 17, 2020. The first was near West Kildonan Collegiate on Rivercrest Avenue followed shortly by an outside fire near Red River Boulevard and McBeth Street.

Just over an hour later three more fires began on the other side of the river. Two were outside fires, one at Litz place the other on Arby Bay. The third was a vehicle fire on Edison Avenue just before 12:30 am

At 1:17 am firefighters were once again called to a vehicle fire this time behind an apartment building on Munroe Avenue at Watt Street.

Within minutes crews were called to another vehicle fire on Poplar Avenue and Levis Street

The cause of the fires are suspicious and are under investigation.
