Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a two-and-a-half-storey rooming house fire in the 200 block of Balmoral Street around 10:20 pm on Saturday, June 24, 2023.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they found smoke and flames coming from the building.
Emergency Crews evacuated six residents from the building and several others got out before firefighters arrived.
Crews attacked the fire from both the inside and out with the blaze being declared under control at 10:59 pm.
Members o the Emergency Social Services team from the city helped the residents find a temporary place to stay.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
