Firefighters fight Lisgar Avenue blaze twice on Saturday

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a blaze on Lisgar Avenue on Saturday, July 1, 2023.

When firefighters arrived on the scene just after 9:40 am they saw smoke and flames coming from the vacant house. An interior attack was launched but as conditions worsened crews pulled back and fought the fire from the outside. Eventually firefighters were able to re-enter the building and continued to fight the fire until it was declared under control at 1:19 pm

No injuries were reported.

At 8:43 pm firefighters were called back to the home after area residents reported smoke coming from the structure. Crews used hand lines to attack the fire along with an aerial ladder to douse the smouldering blaze from above.

The cause of the fires are under investigation

Officials say that the building is a total loss.
