While fighting a house fire in the 200 block of Beacon Street on Monday morning, September 4, 2023, emergency crews discovered a deceased person inside.
Firefighters were called to the house shortly after 10:00 am and saw smoke and flames coming from the structure as they arrived. An interior attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 10:26 am.
Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said that the deceased was found during a search of the building and that police were immediately called.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
