    Firefighters deal with gas meter fire and leak

    Winnipeg Fire ParamedicService responded to a fire in the first 100 block of Four Oaks Cove at 9:15 pm on Monday, August 1, 2022.

    When firefighters arrived they found a small fire coming from a gas meter at the side of the house and quickly put it out.

    People inside the home had exited before firefighters arrived on the scene. Crews evacuated the occupants of two neighbouring home as a precaution.

    As the meter was leaking Manitoba Hydro crews were called in to fix the leak and ensure it was safe for residents to re-enter their homes.

    No injuries were reported.

    The cause of the fire is under investigation.
