Firefighters battled two structure fires Saturday morning

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service battled two fires Saturday morning, July 25, 2020, both of which are under investigation.

Prichard Avenue

Crews responded to a two-storey structure fire in the 300 block of Prichard Avenue around 7:18 am.

As firefighters arrived they encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the home.

Crews immediately launched an offensive attack with the fire brought under control by 7:49 am.

No One was inside the structure at the time of the blaze say officials.

Just after 9:00 am crews returned to the building after the fire had re-ignited. The fire was declared under control at 9:42 am.

Sherbrook Street

Minutes before 10:00 am firefighters responded to a fire in a vacant three-storey apartment building in the 600 block of Sherbrook Street.

Smoke was coming from the building as crews arrived on scene.

An offensive attack was launched with the fire being declared under control at 10:45 am.

A search of the building found no one inside. No injuries were reported.
