Firefighters battled a large structure fire on Sutherland Avenue

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called around 7:40 pm on March 30, 2023, to a fire behind 5 Sutherland Avenue after what is being described as a storage shed went up in flames.

When firefighters arrived on the scene the building was engulfed in flames. Smoke from the fire could be seen from across the city. Fire crews launched a defensive attack on the fire from the exterior.

Although the fire was declared under control at 8:27 pm firefighters remained on the scene for several hours as they continued to pour water on the blaze.

The building was a complete loss.

No injuries were reported

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
