Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire in the 200 block of Gary Street at 10:57 am on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
When crews arrived on the scene they found thick smoke and flames coming from the Windsor Hotel. An exterior defensive attack was launched using hand lines and aerial ladder trucks.
The hotel has been vacant since March 2023, after it was ordered to close under a provincial health order.
Police have blocked Gary Street and Fort Street at St.Mary Avenue. and have asked people to avoid the area while firefighters work to put out the fire.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
