Firefighters battle three fires simultaneously less than a block apart

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a structure fire and two dumpster fires simultaneously within a block of each other early this morning.

A fire in a three storey apartment under investigation as crews battled three fires in the area simultaneously within a block of each other on April 11, 2021 (News 4)

Minutes after 2:05 am on Sunday April 11, 2021, fire crews were called to a structure fire in a Furby Street apartment just south of Sargent Avenue.

Smoke was found in a side door entryway and crews were able to quickly put it out.

No injuries were reported.

While firefighters were dealing with the first fire a second fire call came in for an outside fire less than 100 feet away on McMicken Street.

Five minutes later firefighters responded to a third fire, this time on Sargent Avenue at Langside Street.

Both of the outside fires were contained in dumpsters and were quickly extinguished.

All three fires are under investigation.
