Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to an apartment fire Tuesday morning, March 24, 2020, on Furby Street.
A second alarm was called in to increase the number of responders and equipment available due to potential life hazards when dealing with a fire in an apartment complex.
As crews arrived they saw smoke coming from the structure and launched an offensive attack.
Although most of the residents were able to get out on their own a few people did need to be helped out by firefighters.
One person was assessed by paramedics at the scene but did not need to go to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.
10 people are being provided help in finding temporary housing by the City’s Emergency Social Services team.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
