Late on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:58 p.m., the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to a call reporting a fire at a two-storey house on Riverside Drive. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy smoke and flames pouring from the residence.
Firefighters initially fought the fire from the outside, and once it was deemed safe, they entered the house to conduct a search and continued their efforts to extinguish the flames from within. Paramedics transported two individuals to the hospital in critical condition.
The fire was declared under control at 1:18 a.m., but the cause of the blaze remains under investigation. No estimates on the damage have been released at this time.
