For the third time this week firefighters responded to a blaze in a vacant two-and-a-half storey house on Furby Street.
Around 5:45 pm on Thursday, June 29, 2023, crews were called to the property in the 500 block and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure. Crews initially battled the fire from the outside due to conditions but eventually were able to transition to an interior attack. The fire was declared under control at 6:20 am.
A search of the building found no one inside. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
