Firefighter suffers heat-related issues while battling blaze

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a house fire in the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue around 6:34 on Monday July 12, 2021.

When crews arrived smoke was coming from the structure and an offensive attack was launched. The fire was declared under control at 7:05 pm.

Everyone inside the home were able to get out prior to firefighters arriving on the scene.

One firefighter was treated on scene for a heat-related condition but did not require hospitalization and eventually returned to duty.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
