Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service says one firefighter was sent to the hospital while fighting a vacant house fire on Mountain Avenue Wednesday evening, August 26, 2020.
Fire officials say that crews were called to a blaze shortly after 5:00 pm in a vacant two-storey house.
When they arrived on the scene smoke was coming from the structure. A defensive attack was launched and it took firefighters about 45 minutes to get the fire under control.
A search of the structure found no one inside.
Two firefighters were assessed by paramedics. One of the firefighters was transported to hospital in stable condition.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
