Around 3:30 am Monday morning, July 12, 2021, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a College Avenue home.
Smoke and flames were visible as firefighters arrived on the scene and an offensive attack was launched. Crews transitioned to a defensive attack as conditions inside the building worsened. Neighbouring homes were protected from fire exposures. As conditions improved crews went back to an offensive attack and the fire was brought under control at 5:36 am.
One firefighter was assessed on scene by paramedics and taken to hospital in stable condition.No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
