A Winnipeg firefighter was injured while battling a fire in a single-storey restaurant in the 200 block of Mcphillips Street on Saturday morning, October 28, 2023.
Crews were called to the scene just before 6:00 a.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the structure. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 6:32 a.m..
The injured firefighter was assessed at the scene by paramedics and then taken to hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported
Crews searched the building and found no one inside.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
