Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a garage fire in the lane in the 700 block of Manitoba Avenue around 5:30 pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

Crews arrived to a working fire and initiated an offensive attack.

As firefighters were battling the blaze they noticed a house on fire a block away in the 600 block of Manitoba.

The fire crews fighting the garage fire split into two teams and while one continued to work the garage the other moved down the street and began fighting the house fire while additional crews were dispatched.

The garage fire was extinguished around 5:46 pm and the house fire was put out six minutes later.

No injuries were reported in either fire.

Both fires are under investigation.
