Firebug was busy in Wolseley early Sunday morning

Winnipeg firefighters were kept busy early Sunday morning as a firebug was setting random fires throughout the Wolseley area over the course of an hour.

The first call in the are came in around 3:47 am on Lipton Street for on outside fire. Crews quickly had it extinguished.

One minute later at 3:48 am another blaze was reported to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service. This time a vehicle had been set on fire in a back lane near Dominion Street.

At 3:54 am another fire call came in this time for an outside fire on Greenwood place.

The fires continued and at 4:24 am a passerby flagged down a fire truck and directed them to a fence on fire in the back lane behind a home on Lenore Street. Crews once again were able to quickly knock down the fire.

The last area incident was a hydro pole and debris that had been set on fire behind a commercial building on Portage Avenue near Strathcona Street.

All of the fires are under investigation.
