On the evening of June 5, 2024, a significant police operation unfolded in the 500 block of William Avenue. At approximately 7:30 p.m., officers from the Central District, backed by the Tactical Support Team, responded to reports of an individual brandishing a firearm inside a residential suite.
In a swift response prioritizing the safety of neighboring residents, the immediate vicinity was sealed off, restricting both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The operation resulted in the arrest of a male and a female. A loaded shotgun, along with ammunition, was safely recovered from the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among other individuals present in the suite.
While the male was released without charges, the female, identified as 33-year-old Tyrenne Raven Thomas, faces multiple charges. These include possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a firearm, restricted/prohibited weapon or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and storing a firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations.
