Fire that destroyed a Brandon condo building accidental, say officials

The fire that destroyed a condo building on Pacific Avenue in Brandon on Tuesday night, September 21, 2021, has been deemed accidental by investigators from the Office of the Fire Commissioner and Brandon Fire and Emergency Services.

The fire broke out on the upper floor of the structure and had spread quickly. As firefighters arrived on the scene the fire was well involved and had spread the length of the building. A defensive attack was launched using landlines and aerial trucks.

All residents in the building at the time of the fire were safely evacuated.

Dozens of residents have lost their home and belongings in the fire.
