A vacant house on Sargent Avenue received an emergency demolition order on Monday, September 11, 2023, in order for crews to extinguish hot spot and to make sure the structure does not pose a risk.
Fifrfighters were called to the house in the 600 block minutes after 2:00 pm. Smoke was seen coming from the structure as crews arrived. A defensive exterior attack was launched and firefighters alsoprotected neighbouring buildings. The fire was declared under control at 2:45 pm.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
