Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service are investigating the cause of a fire in a vacant Eligin Avenue two-storey house. This is the third fire in the building since 2019.
Emergency crews were called to the structure just after 12:30 am on Thursday, August 26, 2021 and found a well involved fire when they arrived on the scene.
A defensive attack from outside the building was started due to the dangers inside the house from the previous fires. Aerial trucks were used to spay the blaze from the top. The fire was mostly knocked down within an hour but crews continued to put out hot spots.
Neighbouring homes were evacuated while fire operations were underway. No injuries were reported
The building is considered to be a complete loss.
