Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a garage fire in the 300 block of College Avenue around 5:40 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2022.
When firefighters arrived they found a fully involved fire in the garage. Smoke and flames were shooting out of the structure and spreading to the adjacent two-and-a-half storey vacant house on the property.

Crews launched an offensive attack and the fires in both building were declared under control at 6:25 pm.
During the fire residents from a neighbouring home were evacuated temporarily as a precaution. Dozens of people in the area watched crews battle the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
