Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to an apartment fire in the 300 block of Stradbrook Avenue just before noon on Monday, February 24, 2020.
When crews arrived they could see smoke and determine that a second floor suite was on fire inside the building.
An offensive attack was launched and the blaze was declared under control by 12:40 pm.
The fire was contained to a single suite but that suite suffered significant damage due to fire, smoke and water. Other suites in the building also suffered damage due to smoke and water.
People inside the building at the time of the fire were able to self-evacuated after hearing the fire alarms within the structure.
Two people were assessed by paramedics at the scene but neither needed to be transported hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
