Manitoba Sustainable Development has issued a total fire ban effective today, June 7, 2019 for Stephenfield Provincial Park southwest of Winnipeg.
Officials say that due to the unstable weather condition expected today including high temperatures and very strong winds the ban is necessary.
Most other provincial parks in the Interlake and Eastern Manitoba will only permit campfires in approved pits between 8:00pm and 8:00 am.
The province says the bans will be reviewed once the weather system passes and conditions improve.
