FINED | FORMER JUDGE PLEADS GUILTY TO IMPAIRED DRIVING

Former Provincial Court Associate Chief Judge Michel Chartier pleaded guilty Monday to driving while impaired.

He had been stopped by RCMP in March along the Trans-Canada Highway near highway 5. His blood alcohol level exceeded .08.

Chartier resigned from the court a few days after he was charged. He had been a Provincial court judge since 2007.

Chartier was fined $2,000 plus $600 in administration costs. He also lost his drivers licence for one year.
