Fentanyl stolen from ambulance parked at St. Boniface Hospital

Six vials of narcotics, including Fentanyl, were stolen from a Winnipeg Ambulance early Monday morning according to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS).

It happened around 3: 00 am on Monday, November 27, 2017.

According to the WFPS, the ambulance was parked in the ambulance bay at St. Boniface Hospital. While the vehicle was left unattended someone stole tow vials of Midazolam and four vials of Fentanyl.

Both Midazolam and Fentanyl can be fatal if taken without medical supervision the WFPS warns.

Winnipeg Police are investigating the thefts and anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219.

The WFPS is also conducting an internal investigation regarding the thefts.
