A 28-year-old woman was arrested following a home invasion in the 300 block of Beverly Street on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
Winnipeg Police Service say the woman broke into the home before 8:30 am. The suspect was rummaging around a bedroom the victim in her 60s was sleeping in. When the victim woke up the suspect demanded money while armed with a weapon. The victim gave the suspect money and valuables and the suspect fled. The victim called police.
When officers arrived they found the suspect outside the home in possession of the victim’s property.
The suspect was taken into custody and charged for her alleged involvement with Break Enter & Commit Robbery – Dwelling House, Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm and Possession of a Weapon.
The accused was released on an undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code of Canada.
