Female Suspect Arrested in Main Street Stabbing

At approximately 5:00 p.m., North District General Patrol officers were dispatched to a stabbing incident in the 800 block of Main Street. Upon arrival, officers located a female suspect at the corner of Main Street and Dufferin Avenue, still brandishing an edged weapon. The suspect was promptly arrested.

While on the scene, officers were approached by a 41-year-old male victim who reported being stabbed. Nearby, officers found a 34-year-old male victim who had also sustained an upper body injury from a stabbing. Emergency medical care was provided to both victims, including the use of a tourniquet for the 41-year-old victim. Both were transported to the hospital, with one in stable and the other in unstable condition. The 34-year-old male was later upgraded to stable.

Investigations revealed that the female suspect had been walking in the rear of the 800 block of Main Street when a confrontation occurred with the 34-year-old male victim, leading to the suspect stabbing him in the upper body. The suspect then fled on foot, approached a 41-year-old male victim without provocation, and stabbed him in the upper body before fleeing the area.

Sarah Marie Whitmore, 41, of Winnipeg has been charged with two counts of Assault with a Weapon and two counts of Failing to Comply with Condition of Release Order. She remains in custody.
