Investigators with the Winnipeg Police Service Sex Crimes Unit are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a female in a bus shelter on the rapid transitway near Chancellor Drive and Pembina Highway just after midnight on November 5, 2022.
Police say the victim was sitting inside the shelter when a man approached with a knife. The man told the victim to take off her clothes and threatened to hurt her if she didn’t do as he directed. The victim was then physically and sexually assaulted. The male fled as a bus arrived and interrupted the assault. The suspect was seen fleeing southbound with some of the victim’s property.
Police are looking for the suspect described as:
- Indigenous, approximately 30 years, thin build and shorter black hair
- he stands approximately 5′ 6″ to 5′ 8″ tall
- wearing: white short sleeve t-shirt and dark-coloured joggers
- knife described as a larger kitchen knife with a grey/black handle
