Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a report of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey house in the 900 block of Boyd Avenue around 9:40 Tuesday night, November 10, 2020.
Firefighters saw smoke coming from the home as they arrived and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control by 10:00 pm.
The people who had been in the home when the fire started were able to exit the building before emergency crews arrived on the scene. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The fire investigator believes that faulty electrical wiring in a light fixture was to blame for the blaze and has deemed the fire accidental.
