Father accused of stabbing his son during an argument

Winnipeg Police say that a 65-year-old male is in custody after an argument escalated which resulted in a 35-year-old male being stabbed.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning, January 19, 2021 at a home in the 700 block of Dufferin Avenue.

Police say they were called to the home just after 3:00 am and found the injured male suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but later upgraded to stable.

Investigators say they believe the father and son were having an argument when the stabbing took place.

Russell Ross was arrested at the scene and charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon.

Ross was detained in custody.
