RCMP are investigating a two-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a 61-year-old male and injured three others on Friday, July 8, 2022.

It happened around 5:25 pm on Highway 52, between Road 38 East and Road 39 East in the RM of La Broquerie.

Police say that a minivan was travelling eastbound on Highway 52 when a westbound SUV crossed the centre line and collided with the van head-on. The driver of the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene. A 54-year-old female and a 12-year-old male who were passengers in the minivan were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 38-year-old driver of the SUV was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from hospital and police say charges against him are pending.

RCMP continue with the investigation.
