CN Police with help from Portage la Prairie RCMP continue to investigate the fatal collision between a train and a vehicle on Thursday June 20, 2019.

Police say that the collision happened shortly after 10:00 am on Road 69 West about eight kilometres northwest of Austin, Manitoba.

Investigators say that a van being driven by a 55-year-old male was travelling northbound when it was hit by an eastbound CN train.

The driver died at the scene.

Police say alcohol is not a factor in the collision.
