Truck driver dead after collision with CP Rail train

RCMP say that a 55-year-old High Bluff man is dead after the gravel truck he was driving collided with a CP Rail train about 5 kilometres northeast of Poplar Point just after 9:00 am on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

The tandem gravel truck was travelling eastbound and approached the rail crossing when it was hit by the northeast-bound freight train.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say alcohol was not a factor in the collision but they say the driver of the truck was not wearing a seatbelt.

RCMP are assisting CP Rail Police in the investigation
