UPDATED
Police say that early Tuesday morning, March 12, 2019, they responded to the report of a shooting in the area of Ellice Avenue and Empress Street.
When officers arrived they found an adult male suffering from serious injuries. The man was taken to hospital by paramedics in critical condition and was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Brett Anthony Cadieux
Police say that the shooting does not appear to be random.
This is the eighth homicide of 2019 and the third in the past two weeks.
